Description of the glossy anti-rust paint based on alkyd resin in solvent phase :

• For exterior and interior decoration and protection of ferrous metals: mild steel, cast iron, raw and printed non-ferrous metals such as galvanised, zinc, pre-painted aluminium, printed or coated with old adherent paints in good condition

Strong points of the anti-rust gloss paint based on alkyd resin in solvent phase :

Application of the Alkyd Resin Glossy Rustproofing Paint in solvent phase : 

• The substrates must comply with the relevant DTU regulations, in particular DTU 59.1. 
• Prior recognition is necessary in order to determine the most suitable preparation for their condition and nature (cleaning, washing/rinsing, sanding, scraping, degreasing, dusting, etc.). 

• In the case of excessive rust, it is advisable to carry out a blank sanding. In general, after preparation, the surfaces must be sound, cohesive, clean, dry and have received a coat of primer adapted to their nature and condition.
• On new non-oxidised ferrous metals, after preparing the substrate, in particular by brushing, dusting and degreasing with a non-greasy cellulose thinner, apply IRON PAINT diluted with 5% white spirit, before applying 2 coats of IRON PAINT.
• On painted ferrous metals with little or no oxidation, after preparing the surface, in particular by removing traces of rust by scraping, sanding and degreasing with a non-greasy cellulose thinner, apply 2 coats of IRON PAINT.
• On bare or oxidised ferrous metals after preparing the substrate, in particular by removing rust by sandblasting or brushing, pitting, sanding depending on the condition (degree of care 2.5 or 3), and by degreasing with a non-greasy cellulose thinner, application of a coat of anti-rust primer before applying 2 coats of IRON PAINT.
• On non-ferrous metals such as zinc, galvanised steel, aluminium, after preparing the surface, in particular by degreasing with a non-greasy cellulose thinner and removing the grease with an acidic removal solution, followed by careful rinsing with clear water and drying before applying a coat of primer before applying 2 coats of IRON PAINT.
